The Technische Überwachungs-Verein Nord e.V. and the Technische Überwachungs-Verein Hannover/Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. (‘TÜV Nord-Vereine’) are legally independent associations which are linked by a joint Supervisory Board, a joint Board of Management and a joint General Meeting.

The TÜV Nord-Vereine are shareholders of the TÜV NORD GROUP. The holding company of the TÜV NORD GROUP is TÜV NORD AG. The TÜV Nord-Vereine together hold 63.9 % of the participation rights in TÜV NORD AG. A further 36.1% is held by RWTÜV e. V., based in Essen (‘RWTÜV’), with which the TÜV Nord-Vereine have been associated since 2004.

In 2023, the TÜV NORD GROUP generated sales of € 1.58 billion and EBT of € 81.4 million and employed more than 14,000 people worldwide. The TÜV NORD GROUP is a cutting-edge technology service company whose specialists provide innovative services in six operating business units, including Mobility, Industry, Energy & Resources.

Through a sense of responsibility, reliability and a sense of proportion, the TÜV Nord-Vereine help to promote the quality, independence and neutrality of the TÜV NORD GROUP's services. No TÜV inspection is influenced by the shareholders. The experts alone decide neutrally on the results of their tests according to defined criteria. For over 150 years, the aim of the TÜV Nord-Vereine has been to help ensure that people, property and the environment are protected from the detrimental effects of technical facilities and equipment and that these are operated safely. The TÜV Nord-Vereine therefore support numerous projects in these areas in the fields of science, research and technology. The TÜV Nord-Vereine also promote the careers of students and scientists, because ultimately it is people who are at the centre of the TÜV Nord-Vereines' commitment.

Members of the TÜV Nord-Vereine are more than 3,000 well-known companies, particularly from the industry, mobility and service sectors.

 

 

 

Board of the
TÜV Nord-Vereine

The Executive Board of the TÜV Nord-Vereine is elected by the Supervisory Board. Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Rappuhn has been Chairman of the Executive Board since 1 January 2024. Dipl.-Kfm. Holger Sievers is a further member of the Executive Board. 

The TÜV Nord-Vereine obtain services (such as accounting, IT, secretariat) from TÜV NORD GROUP.

 

 

 

Tasks of the
TÜV Nord-Vereine

The TÜV Nord-Vereine are not operational, but are active in asset management. They also promote projects in the fields of science, research and technology. In addition, the TÜV Nord-Vereine support ambitious young and advanced scientists, in particular through scholarship programmes.

 

 

 

The Supervisory Board of the TÜV Nord-Vereine

 

The Supervisory Board of the TÜV Nord-Vereine is made up of up to twelve representatives of members of the associations.
